I got addicted and when I say addicted, I mean addicted to spin when my good friend Holly opened HOTWORX in Henderson. They have a spin class inside an infrared sauna (I know most of you follow me on my IG (link) and have seen my sweaty spin videos, Ha! Here is the link for HOTWORX IG follow them @HotworxHendersonBlackMountain. CALL for new member specials, and mention HM777 for 50% off your enrollment fee!

Today is all about why I love spin, the most obvious reasons being my ass and legs have never looked better. Spin does wonders for the booty, and quickly too! Here are some of the other reasons why I love spin:

1. Improved mood. After spin I feel very refreshed. Combined with the sauna at HOTWORX, I sweat out and detox for a good 30-60 mins per session.

2. It engages your core, so it helps with your waistline. Win, win!

3. According to health experts, cycling not only raises your heart rate, but also has the capacity to burn significant amounts of calories. Doing this exercise on a daily basis will help you burn more calories, which means you’ll be able to lose fat stored in your body fat, including your abdominal fat.

4. Spin may burn calories in the short term, but if that’s all you’re doing, it also can build muscle in your thighs and legs which I’m not mad at!

5. Spinning is long known to decrease fat and help people drop pounds, it will make you lean and like I said trim to waist.

6. When it comes to glute development, spinning competes closely with squatting. It gives you an intense butt workout and shapes your legs while burning fat. Since this form of exercise targets your glutes, it may lift and tone your butt a lot faster than other cardio workouts.

7. One 45-minute indoor cycling workout can burn 350- 600+ calories. However, that number doubles if you cycle in the sauna or out in the heat.

8. Contrary to popular belief, spin class builds muscle strength without adding bulk. Like all other forms of cardio, indoor cycling recruits your whole body, not just your quads. Once you master your form on the bike, you’ll notice that you’re able to work your full legs, core, and arms.

9. Spin is great for clearing your mind. I zone out when I spin and found this great workout station that is perfect for spinning to. https://music.apple.com/us/artist/workout-electronica/1040722871) Try one of these playlists next time you spin.

10. I see results faster than I ever have doing squats or any other workout.

I do spin every day but most trainers say that’s overkill, so if you’re just starting out try spinning 3-5 times a week, taking a day off in between sessions. It’s also important to eat after spin, and personally, I eat a little before too. After spin be sure to eat lean protein such as eggs, chicken, tuna or tofu along with complex carbs such as whole grain pasta, rice, or sweet potato, and some healthy fat like avocado, try this amazing avocado smoothie!
