What Your Lipstick Color Says About You
I recently found an interesting survey online that really got me thinking. Skin Store, an authorized retailer to 100’s of premium beauty brands, surveyed 2,000 women and found that nude lipstick is what makes them feel “prettier” and “more attractive.” While reds, purples, and browns can make for a fun pop of color, it’s not actually what most people gravitate to. The top five power shades were nude, light pink, berry red, dark pinks, and bright red.
I think that I would agree with this survey, considering these are the top shades I personally wear. However, sometimes I want a pop of color (usually orange) and was left wondering, what do my color choices say about me? So, I went online, and the results were so interesting that I decided to dedicate a post to the subject.

Bold Red
Bright red lips are all about making a bold statement. This color projects confidence and self-assurance to the world. If you subconsciously choose bright red lipstick, you are showing the world that you are a passionate being. You enjoy being admired, and you don’t mind if others see your sensual side!! So, if you’re a bold chick headed out for a night on the town, then GO RED!
Nude
Women who opt for nude lipstick are warm and caring. They may be on the shy side but are extremely warm and caring once they open up. Although they put effort into their appearance, this choice of lip color indicates they want to be taken seriously.
**This is totally me — I love nude lipsticks and I always want to be taken seriously! This is definitely my go-to choice for meetings, daytime, and workdays. To me nude means sophisticated and chic. Do you agree?
Baby Pink
If you wear baby pink lipstick, you are someone who relishes being adorable. This shade tells the world that you love things that are cute and cuddly. You like things that are visually pleasing, and have a fondness for children and little animals.
**This is also me, so another win for the internet here! I love baby pink matte shades — I love the way they make your lips look so great!
Orange
Even though orange looks fun and bouncy, it’s not really an easy color for everyone to pull off. If you gravitate towards this palette, you’re likely to be carefree, wild, vivacious, whimsical, energetic, and adventurous. You don’t mind standing out in a crowd and easily throw caution to the wind.
–I totally agree with this one because when I dress up fun and am feeling carefree, I always choose orange (see pic)!
Black/Dark Shades
Black lipstick doesn’t mean you are a negative or evil person, but it does indicate that you have a dark side. You likely have a dark sense of humor and aren’t easily amused. You find bright colors to be too flashy and attention-grabbing for your taste.
