Get ready to find out how simple these beauties are!

HOW TO MAKE:

Ingredients / Supplies Needed:
– 1 Loaf of bread (I used the Sara Lee Artesano bread because the slices are thicker)
– Butter
– Flour (just a touch for the rolling pin)
– Confit of Rose Petals (A type of rose jam)
– Rolling Pin
– Heart-Shaped Cookie Cutter
– Leaf Cookie Cutter (optional)
– Basting Brush

Directions:
1. Start by rolling out three slices of bread. Put flour on the rolling pin to keep the bread from sticking. Once the bread is flattened, use the heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut the bread into heart shapes

2. Also cut out a couple leaves for each rose with the flattened bread. You can either use the heart shaped cutter and cut them in half, free hand them, or use an actual leaf shaped cutter. Whatever you do, cut little slits in the tops of the leaves to add some realism.

3. To make your first rose, take one heart shape and roll it tight, then proceed to layer additional hearts around it, overlapping each heart in the middle of the last all the way around until we had a rose shape. I ended up using 7 hearts for each rose.

4. To attach your roses to your pieces of toast, first cut a small round hole in the upper left portion of the slice and place the bottom of the rose into the hole. Then place the leaves underneath the rose on each side.

5. Preheat the oven to 350 and brush your toast with melted butter to achieve a nice lightly browned color. Pop them in for about 10 minutes to toast, or until you get the shade you want.

6. Finally, once they’re out of the oven finish these beauties by spreading the confit of rose petals on top and enjoy!
