So, you woke up on the wrong side of the bed? That’s okay, we all have off-days. Sometimes I have off-weeks! My moving process almost caused me a nervous breakdown lol, but what’s important is how you handle these off-days or weeks. Struggling to change your mood? Just saying, “hey, today is an off-day for me,” is totally okay. No matter the route you take, here are some ways to cope with those anxiety-ridden mornings where your phone just doesn’t stop, or you wake up not quite feeling yourself.
The first thing to always do is take a breath and calm down. No matter is causing your funk, it’s not the end of the world, even though it may seem like it. Follow these steps:
-Take a breath.
-Remember what you have.
-Take stock in your accomplishments, even the small ones. Hey, you got up this morning, right?
-Be realistic. Put things into perspective: life will go on.
-Forget blame, it’s the highway to nowhere.
-Unplug. Sometimes when it’s all too much, the best thing you can do is unplug, throw on some satin pajamas, and call it a day. Maybe grab a book and read! When is the last time you actually did that?
-Feel it, release it. Do you know how many times I’ve cried in the last three weeks? Some sad tears, some joyful tears. Either way, you have to release them from time to time!
-Have compassion on yourself and take time for self-care. Make a snack, turn on some TV, take an hour to laugh and take your mind off of other things, then re-group.
-Take a long shower and throw on some ocean sounds or favorite tunes. I love my shower speaker.
Of all of these things, the most important thing you can do when you’re having an off-day is simply to remember who the efffff you, are because honey, there is no one like you!
Repeat after me:
-I am smart.
-I am beautiful.
-I am capable.
-I am having an off-day, and that’s okay.
-I am perfect as I am.
Here’s to better days ahead,
HM
