On July 4, 1776, the 13 colonies claimed their independence from England, an event which eventually led to the formation of the United States. Though the vote for actual independence took place on July 2nd, on July 4th the Continental Congress formally adopted the Declaration of Independence. From then on, the 4th became the day that was celebrated as the birth of American independence. This year 2021, the grand old USA will be 225 years old.
Each year on the 4th of July Americans celebrate this historic event and the long weekend by having backyard BBQ’s and traveling. Now that the pandemic is more under control and most states have opened back up, I think this holiday weekend is going to be widely celebrated. I’m spending the weekend in LA with my friends Alexis Bellino, David Yontef, and my fabulous assistant Danielle Kirby. We’ll be staying at the Mondrian in LA and flying private, I can’t wait! It’s a much-needed change of scenery, for sure! I’m excited to create some new content, start filming for a secret project, and see my makeup artist and close friend Gabby. I tagged them all, be sure to follow them!
So how are you celebrating this holiday? Here are some of my favorite 4th of July themed beauty treatments and recipes for your backyard BBQs this year!

Blueberry Face Mask (an anti-aging wonder)
-Blend a small cup of blueberries into a smooth paste.
-Add that mixture to a bit of Greek yoghurt. Make sure to strain the yoghurt through a filter or cloth before you mix the two, so it gives you a nice consistency.
-Apply the mixture on your face and leave it on for 20 minutes
-Wash off with warm water first, then cold water to close off pores.
Strawberry Face Mask (perfect for fighting acne)
-In a small bowl, mash 2 to 3 ripe strawberries into a pulp.
– Stir in the honey until you form a fairly smooth paste.
– Apply the mixture onto your face in a gentle circular motion. Massage the mask onto your face for at least 2 minutes.
– Wash off with warm water first, then cold water to close off pores.
