There are only 193 days left until 2023, which means we’re approaching the halfway mark of the year, and I can’t believe it! It’s been a long, tough year for many people across the world, and maybe some are already looking forward to 2023 hoping for better days. I’m not going to get into listing everything that’s wrong in the world, or indulging in the blame game, but we do have to open our eyes and start being smarter and more prepared for the new year and anything that this world may throw at us. We need to hustle harder than ever before and make sure we’re doing our best every day so that we aren’t thrown for a loop when the unexpected occurs. Here are a few ways that you can prepare yourself for 2023, now and throughout the next 193 days.
Invest In Yourself
Starting a business, taking courses, or getting a life coach makes a world of difference. I have two coaches that I work with, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without them! If you want to start small, get into Facebook groups and take all the free courses you can find, read books (I love the Headway app, you can listen to books in the car!). Start to maximize all the skills you have and get more knowledge in the field that you work in or want to work in.
Cut All Extra Spending
There’s no doubt going to be a recession by the time we hit 2023. All signs point to that inevitability. It’s time to cut all extra spending that doesn’t feed your soul, make you a better person, or involve investing in yourself. Cut out extra shopping and unused subscriptions and start saving what you can. Normally people are recommended to have 3-6 months’ worth of savings in their accounts at all times. Hey, I get it, we’ve been in a pandemic, so these aren’t exactly the normal times. But, it’s time to cut out the extra bottles of wine, shoes, etc. and start investing in setting yourself up for the future. Build up that emergency fund!
Create Multiple Streams Of Income
Again, invest in yourself. Start a side business doing something you love, or like I coach my manufacturing clients on, maximize what you’re already doing and sell a product. I even have a friend making candles at night after her daytime job. The more you work on yourself or alternative revenue streams, the less you will be out spending money. You’ll be at home making money!
Learn To Budget And Work On Your Credit Score
As housing prices rise, so do credit qualifications. Be sure to get your credit score back on track and pay off any credit cards you have or consolidate them ASAP.
Keep Active
Exercise or go for a walk daily. Even if it’s for only a few minutes each day, it will clear your mind and you’ll start your day off feeling better. Also, while you’re on your daily walk, think about everything you’re grateful for, take in nature around you, and stay off your phone. You’re guaranteed to see a difference in your headspace.
Get Quality Sleep
Make sure you set aside enough time to get amazing, quality rest. I even recommend leaving your alarm (or your phone) in another room so you have to get up and get after it (I’m writing this at 5:15 am, lol). I also use my ‘A Girl’s Gotta Rest’ Lavender Sleep Spray on my bedding each night and it helps me sleep extra dreamy. Sometimes I’ll sleep in a sheet mask as well or throw on some collagen eye gels to wake up with a super fresh face.
So there you have it. We’ve got 193 days to start making 2023 the best year yet, but don’t forget about the present moment. Live out every day the best you can, giving it all you’ve got, and stay in gratitude.
