With summer on its way, I like to be ahead of the game getting you ready with your best skincare game! This week I’m sharing 6 summer skincare tips to use all summer long, to help you get (or keep) your best skin ever! With just a few tweaks you can help minimize the seasonal side effects that summer can have on your skin.

This wouldn’t be a list of skincare tips if I didn’t mention sunscreen. Sunscreen, with at least a 30 SPF, is your best friend every day of the year, but it is absolutely essential in the summer. With everyone tanning by the pool, on the beach, or just looking for that sun-kissed glow, keep sunscreen on you at all times so you can avoid those damaging sun rays that cause premature aging. Prevention is always the best tactic against signs of aging! SPF found in moisturizers or foundations all count, just make sure if you’re spending extra time outdoors to reapply.

Use an after sun spray! You will see me all summer long with my after sun aloe spray poolside. It’s my #1 summer skincare product next to sunscreen! After sun sprays can help soothe skin if you do end up getting burned, which happens, but also help keep your skin moisturized and calm. These aloe-packed sprays also have turned burns into tans for me, so girl, 10/10 recommend you getting one for this summer season!

Stay in the shade. One of the best things you can do if you’ve been by the pool for a while but still want to hang out in the summer heat is to stay in the shade. You can still enjoy your summer poolside, but taking a break from the sun is important for your health. Let’s enjoy the summer in the best and safest way possible!

Next tip, don’t forget to stay moisturized! With all the fun summer festivities our skin can definitely get dried out. So after your time at the beach or pool, make sure you rinse off and apply your favorite lotion or moisturizer. Skin oils and serums are also great tools to boost the moisture on your delicate face and neck skin. Moisture is key for plump and healthy skin that will thank you!

Another tip I have that applies year round, but is especially important in the summer, is to stay hydrated. Being in the sun makes it easy to get dehydrated, so make sure you’re drinking your water and eating fruits and veggies to get in a ton of liquids. My favorite thing to do in the summer is to have a good smoothie by the pool. Not only is it delicious and refreshing, you also get in more liquids – staying hydrated doesn’t have to be boring! Being hydrated is going to help you get that glowing from within.

Final tip, shower and/or wash your face with cool water. Believe it or not, hot water will actually contribute to drying your skin out. Taking cool showers or washing your face with cool water will help keep that moisture in. It’s such a refreshing feeling! Using cool water before starting your skincare routine is such a great way to start your day and wake up.
